On Demand to Act As Live Schedule

Not sure if the subject title is understandable, but is it possible or are you planning to implement tools that would allow to create a playlist that would act as a live video feed using stored on-demand video files that could be programmed with a start time and end time as if programmed like a TV station or network

    Hi Drew,

We already have some functionality, which could potentially be utilised to achieve a similar result. However, bending it to your needs would require a fair degree of manual management.

If you look at one of your video's individual security settings, you'll find options entitled 'video scheduling' towards the bottom of the menu. These settings will allow you to specify two times, which the video is viewable between.

If that video is within a playlist, it will not be playable until the specified time. Instead, your viewers will just see a thumbnail with a question mark on it, until the video becomes available.

Take a look and let me know if that fits your requirements. If you have any questions, I'd be very happy to answer them.

    All the best,

    Hello Drew

Further to Lawrence's comments, and on further consideration, we can't really meet the requirement you're describing without some work.

We use standard technologies for embedding (iframe), playback (Flash and HTML5), video (h.264), etc. Further, we recognize that we won't meet every requirement so we have APIs on both the server-side ( and the client-side ( to extend the functionality of the platform.

Put more simply, we don't have what you want off-the-shelf but you could possibly achieve the effect you're looking for with some API work.
